Okay, so I've been a bit distracted of late (and I still need to actually do HotaruThodt
's request) but I figured I'd make a post kind of detailing what's going on.
I am moving out of my current abode with my best friend (AlyssaTolensky
) in literally 2 days. (Not even, a day and a half more like) and I've been distracted like mad, so the packing is getting done (I did 6 boxes today) and I'm slowly feeling like we're accomplishing something. We still have furniture to put together at our new place, and we're trying to work on cosplays for the con at the end of May.
We WERE hoping to be done making Fili and Kili (from The Hobbit) by then, but it's come to our attention that the intricacies might not allow for them to be finished in time. If not, it will be a dressed-down version of them (along with POSSIBLY my 6 month old brother as baby Thorin). From there, we also want to reprise Fix-It Felix and Sgt. Calhoun, and do the Geek Prom in formal wear. Aside from that, our preview night cosplay is what we're spending the most time on right now. She is going to be Lionel Cosgrove from the cult horror flick Dead Alive, with me as Thomas 'Void' Randell, AKA the zombie greaser. Our things are nearly finished for them (we're trying to finish sewing up some intestines to attach to my ribcage, I need my wig styled, and we want to purchase milky-eye contacts). BUT I've now gotten it in my head that, as she suggested to me weeks ago and I blew off, we should make a baby Selwyn to take with us. I want to take it upon myself to do the doll for Selwyn since lovely Alyssa does nearly everything else cosplay-wise and I always feel like a bad friend when I have no way to help. I also found a vintage pram on Craigslist tonight that I would LOVE to buy to put Selwyn into so he can be taken around the con with us.
But, as I said, this con is right around the corner now and we're running out of time to finish everything. So I guess this is just a life update so that anyone that still actually watches me will know where I've been for the last few months.
